David Kerr

David Kerr (1927-2014)

 

David Kerr was Professor of Medicine in Newcastle and later Dean at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital.

In Newcastle he was one of the UK pioneers in establishing chronic haemodialysis in the early 1960s. The first effective CAPD programme in the UK was started in his unit under the leadership of Ram Gokal in the late 1970s.
